We had an exciting day with dedicated volunteers contributing from 9am until 6pm today. Several of our ever-present and energetic BMX bikers came by to flyer North Adams and Adams and reach out to skaters/bikers at the Adams skatepark. We had some parents and other community members join us as well as a bunch of students from Drury High School and BArT Charter.
"Today was pretty fun. We got to do so many things to help promote. We even got our school to temporarily change cell policies and let us text our votes!" --Chris Cozzaglio and Kaitlin LaValley, BArT students + UNITY youth leadersSome highlights from today's efforts:
- We sidewalk chalked our message on Main Street, NA
- BArT altered their cell policy to allow students to text in their votes during school
- Mass MoCA began spreading the word through their channels, including to their 4,000+ Twitter followers and 11,000+ facebook fans
- We posted flyers and table-toppers at businesses and restaurants in North Adams and Adams
- We spread the word far and wide through the facebooks of our staff/volunteers. We heard that people are voting for us all the way from California to Maine!
- We are currently ranked 27th in the Refresh Everything contest! That is an AMAZING start.
Moving forward, please be sure to way 3 ways per day, every day!
Also, consider joining us Monday nights at 7pm at 61 Main Street for our volunteer check-in/brainstorming meetings!
